Branimir Brkljac, Managing Partner, Studio Moderna Group
Client

Founded in 1992, the "Studio Moderna Group"  is the leading direct-marketing company in Central and Eastern Europe with offices in 17 countries and a fully developed infrastructure which includes the following services: customer interactive centres, order taking and processing and packaging and distribution. They are the largest media buyer of non prime time television with over 55 hours on 65 television stations in the region; they also provide supplementary marketing services like telemarketing, catalogue distribution, direct mailing, market research and other related activities...

Project overview

The goal of the project was to create a better ordering and Order-Tracking environment for the customers of Studio Moderna, from the point of the first telephone call to the point of an installation in a customer's home.
With substantial year-to-year growth in their business, Studio Moderna executives identified the need to enhance their Order-Tracking management function with an innovative, easy to use software solution.
High tracking performance and instituting new distribution policies across their growing and geographically distributed workforce was not an easy task. The EXECOM's Order-Flow Management System needed to allow the input of orders in various states, planning and scheduling of filed-teams, follow-ups by various criteria and creation of all necessary documentation. With the ultimate goal of improving sales cycle and helping improve communications between clients and sales staff, Studio Moderna faced the decision of whether to acquire some expensive "brand" solution or to outsource the system design and development to an experienced IT solution provider.

Execom solution

EXECOM was selected by Studio Moderna Group to collaborate in the design and development of the Order-Flow Management System. Based on EXECOM's domain expertise combined with its software development methodology, this partnership proved to be the best way to overcome cost and time constraints.
During project initiation, a special workgroup consisting of Studio Modern's and EXECOM's specialists was created in order to provide a better understanding of the specific tasks to be supported by the system. In a spirit of close cooperation and trust between the two companies, the project began with an in-depth requirements analysis of the process and data.
The Order-Flow Management System was custom built according to client's business environment and goals. According to the functional use of the system, a role-based access scheme was created in which the data and functionality of the system varied for the following user roles: Administrator, Power User and Standard User. This provided a more flexible, yet robust enterprise performance management solution. Additionally, the system was integrated with existing BI database data to ensure data integrity.
According to requirements for scalability and extensibility, the Order-Flow Management System was implemented as a client/server solution. In the two-tier client/server model, the logic of an application is located on Database servers. The backend server or a database in this case was Microsoft® SQL Server with an integrated security module. The client responsible for user interactions was deployed as a standalone application.

Benefits

EXECOM worked in a close collaboration with client's management and in-house technical resources to layout the design framework for the Order-Flow Management System that significantly decreased the sale response time by providing an integrated, well-developed solution to help managers and sales staff in assessing performance and identifying successful attainment of goals. Having worked closely with EXECOM, Studio Moderna also received the following benefits:
